Marsha Schuld is a multi-media artist who works out of her studio Near Rush Lake, Saskatchewan. Living rural is at the heart of her professional art practice. The media in which she works include but aren’t limited to: bronze sculpture, painting, drawing, stained glass, printmaking and intricate hand embroidery. While the medium changes, her work has always examined prairie life in one way or another, looking closely at the people, the flora and fauna or the landscape as a whole. Schuld is particularly interested in engaging “outsiders” in the prairie experience and encouraging viewers to look at this region critically and intimately, bridging urban and rural, foreign and local. Schuld also teaches adult and youth art courses in various media.
