Joni Hagen is the Executive Director of the South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District and brings 25 years of experience in the non‑profit and community development sector. For the past 15 years, she has led and supported sport, culture, and recreation initiatives across Southeast Saskatchewan, working directly with communities, volunteers, and local organizations to strengthen programs and build long‑term capacity.

Joni is deeply passionate about rural community development and champions an asset‑based approach, starting with what communities already have and building from their strengths. Through her work in strategic planning, community consultation, evaluation, governance, and partnership development, she has helped countless groups and leaders gain the skills, connections, and confidence to move their vision forward. Joni has a Bachelor of Physical Activities Studies with a major in Recreation Administration from the University of Regina.
